Gargled evidence to be presented at Gitmo Court amid citizen campaign for new 9/11 commission

In an eye-opening reversal that adds more convolution to our national life just when we need it, President Obama announced he would run for a second term on the same day that his administration unveiled plans to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed  before a military commission at Guantánamo Bay (“Gitmo”) for his [alleged] roles in the attacks of September 11—that is, if Khalid is not actually dead or is not simply a shadowy reverse-Santa Claus symbol of the Satan archetype embedded in America’s collective unconscious. Along with the demise of Obama’s once-noble plan to close Gitmo, President Obama also abandoned (under Congressional pressure) his original plan to have Mr. Mohammed (aka KSM) tried in federal criminal court, where the rules of evidence are more stringent and where evidence based on egregious torture is considered more impolite, or stated otherwise, more palatable for a judge or kangaroo presiding over a secret military court. . . KSM, as you may remember, “confessed” to being the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks that not only defeated the domestic defenses of the world’s leading superpower—but also, just for fun, magically caused a 50-story steel-framed structure (World Trade Center building 7) to collapse into its footprint in under seven seconds without being hit by a plane, beating previous NCAA records. That two other WTC towers also went down at near free fall, their concrete vaporized along with cute little balls of nanothermite—well, that was more serendipity. Not unlike Butler’s inexplicable collapse in the second half against UCONN, America’s AWOL air defenses seemed to take orders directly from KSM to “stand down” that day. Yet there was a tiny hitch to KSM’s admission of guilt for all this mayhem, in that he was waterboarded 183 times in 2003 before his full confession, as the world was to discover in 2005 after the 9/11 Commission Report (that relies on KSM’s testimony) was published. Most folks know that waterboarding anyone more that 180 times is a waste of taxpayer money and a burden to the federal debt; but, with the tapes of some of the forced interrogations of Gitmo detainees illegally destroyed by the CIA, we may never know the truth.

In the meantime, while gargling for the CIA in waterboarding sessions, KSM confessed to planning or conducting 30 other terrorist acts on almost every continent, anything from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, to the Bali nightclub bombings, then rushing over to Pakistan to personally behead Daniel Pearl, then home to see the wife and kids and watch a cricket match as he planned to bomb the Big Ben clock, attack “many nightclubs” in Thailand, and blow up the Panama Canal, after which he planned send funds to proxies who would assassinate Pope John Paul II and Bill Clinton [and these items are not fictional]. Further, all this would be made possible by smoking methamphetimine five times a day after solemn prayers and refraining from eating ham sandwiches. During the months of his watery torture, KSM evolved spirituality enough—being born under the sign of Cancer—such that he could become the prime source for the government’s official conspiracy theory as recorded in The 9/11 Commission Report, which cites him several hundred times—reminiscent of Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses.

Meanwhile, scores of the Commission’s omissions and distortions have been well documented by heroic 9/11 truth researchers even while these same volunteers were while being ridiculed by friends, colleagues and wives; for example, that the Commission forgot to even mention Building 7 or register evidence for the fact that (according to the head of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism, Joseph Brodsky) good old KSM also worked on behalf of the Pakistani Intelligence, a close American ally that according to the India Times ordered that $100,000 be wired Mohammed Atta soon before the attacks.

Also, in another slight hitch, KSM—our protagonist and the central figure in the crime of the century—was never directly interviewed by the 9/11 Commission; neither were any of the over 100 detainees held at Gitmo who are alleged to be directly linked to the 9/11 attacks. All of the 9/11 Commission’s requests to interview these key suspects were blocked by the CIA; even a compromise request to have the Commission’s questions presented to the suspects secretly under the exclusive control of the CIA was blocked, even with the added provision that the CIA would provide summarized reports of the results of its questioning without allowing the Commission access to the raw transcripts. That’s okay, of course, as the CIA is noted for being a trustworthy and above-board organization.

No, no, the evidence provided to the Commission that was coerced under torture would suffice in the Land of the Free to provide a central thread in the official narrative. You may also remember that, early on in his term, Obama made clear that he did not believe that those who carried out the interrogations should be prosecuted despite their inhospitable treatment of KSM and many others. He forgave them, for they knew not what they did.

In any case, this was one fine day for President Barack Obama to formally launch his re-election campaign, and today is also one fine day for me to announce—if you will forgive my sarcasm above—my close involvement with a new activist organization founded and led by former Senator Mike Gravel (D-Alaska, 1969-1981), that is exploring the feasibility of filing a California ballot proposition that would create an new and independent 9/11 commission—funded by the citizens of California; we are also looking at options for extending this toward a multistate effort.

As we launch this work, we are heartened by one unassailable fact: the 9/11 truth movement has grown and prospered for nearly a decade, gaining millions of supporters through outreach and education in one of the most remarkable grassroots movements in American history. Our effort builds upon the movement’s innumerable breakthroughs and hard-won lessons. We believe these lessons point to a new approach to our common goals based on citizen power.

One thing we know is this: That our movement is grassroots; that sovereign power lies with the people; and that our fellow citizens are now awakened to 9/11 truth in vast numbers. But how can we harness this 911-truth-citizen-power to demand a truly independent investigation? More about this in my next blog.

Meanwhile, write me if you want the sources for my early rant above, and please have a look at these links that add current details about the ballot proposition for a new 9/11 investigation…
